CAMPION Golf Tour - PdC by Joe Williamson
Sat Jul 8 14:34:46 2000 [Joe Williamson 72]: Here is my report on the All Campion
Alumni Golf Outing held at the Prairie du Chien Country Club on June 4&5th. As soon as I got to
town I immediately went to Pete's Hamburgers and ordered two "with"(onions). They were as
wonderful as I have been dreaming about since last years outing. I took them over to the Sawmill
Saloon to wash them down with a couple of beers. At the bar was former Campion Football Coach,
Nick Campbell, who was kind enough to buy me the first one. After finishing I crossed Blackhawk
Ave to Kabers Supper Club where a great number of Campion Alumns from many classes had
gathered. This year a new record of 135 golfers attended with many more showing up at Kabers on
Sunday night for the social hour. The weather on Monday morning started out cold and wet but
eventually turned out great. Highlights included all four Bergstrom Brothers, Wally '60, John '64,
Dick '68, and Bill '72 attending for the first time and playing as a foursome. Roger Jerrick '70 was
back again and looks like he could still play football at Iowa. Hats off to Mark Peterson and others
on the planning committee who did a wonderful job putting it together and I urge everyone who
reads this to attend if possible. It's always the first Sunday & Monday in June.
